Water flanked them left and right,
One spectacle of terror!
Some Israelites moved in doubt-
Egyptians chased in error!
Then, Intervention moved behind,
A Shield to block the foe...
Separating Love from hate,
As trumpets LOUD did blow!
On confusion, fury fell-
To drown the charging wheels;
