It is a tiny symbol
Of what Jesus did for me-
And I don it proudly
For everyone to see!
It's a small reminder
To show what we must bear;
Taking up His purpose,
Proving that we care.
It's not just a decoration
(As in faddish vogue)
But to it's receivers-
The cross is part of "code."
An ornament of statement,
Confessing of the shame,
That He took upon Himself
To furnish us a "name."
No special designation
Or degree one has achieved...
Is needed to display it;
Just wear it and BELIEVE!
